Privacy Policy

That Socials Team is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who interact with our website, enquire about our services, or engage us as clients. This Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. About this Policy

That Socials Team ('we', 'us', 'our') operates the website at thatsocialsteam.com.au. By using our website or engaging our services, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Policy.

2. The information we collect

We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services and operate our business. This may include:

  • Contact information: your name, email address, and phone number when you submit an enquiry or communicate with us directly.
  • Business information: your business name, ABN, and relevant business details collected during onboarding and invoicing.
  • Payment information: processed directly by Stripe. We do not store card details on our systems.
  • Visual content: photos and videos featuring you, your staff, or your business premises captured as part of our content creation services.
  • Website usage data: technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically.

We only collect sensitive information where it is reasonably necessary for the services we provide and where you have consented.

3. How we collect your information

  • Directly from you via website forms, email, phone, or in-person communication.
  • During delivery of content creation services, including on-site filming.
  • Through third-party tools embedded on our website or used in our operations, including Stripe (payments), Xero (invoicing), and Calendly (scheduling).

Where you provide us with personal information about other individuals, you confirm those individuals have consented to their information being provided to us and used in accordance with this Policy.

4. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide our content creation services.
  • To prepare, send, and process invoices and payments.
  • To manage our client relationships and communicate with you about your project.
  • To use content we create for you in our own portfolio, website, and social media marketing, unless you have requested otherwise in writing.
  • To improve our services and website.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

5. Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • Service providers and contractors who assist us in delivering our services, including freelance editors and production crew, subject to confidentiality obligations.
  • Third-party platforms we use to operate our business, including Stripe, Xero, Google Workspace, and Upwork. Each has their own privacy policy governing your data.
  • Government agencies, regulators, or law enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Use of content in our marketing

As part of our standard service terms, we retain the right to use any content we create for you — including edited videos, raw footage, and photographs — in our own portfolio, website, social media, and marketing materials. If you do not wish your content to be used in this way, you must notify us in writing prior to your shoot. Reasonable requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

7. Data storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Your information is stored using industry-standard secure platforms. While we take data security seriously, no transmission or storage over the internet can be guaranteed as fully secure.

Client files, including raw footage and edited content, are typically retained for 90 days after project delivery, after which they may be deleted from our systems.

8. Third-party websites and tools

Our website may link to or embed third-party tools (such as Stripe, Calendly, or social media platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

9. Access and correction

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request that we correct any inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. Contact us using the details below to make a request.

10. Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.
